FRINGE SHOWS WE HAVE SEEN #2

Digital and Visual Arts

Stratton/Reihana-Wilson

TALK

Mon 18 & Wed 20 February, Mon 25 & Wed 27 February & Fri 1 March, 8.00pm
I have a lot of friends that recently finished film school. Seeing a large pool of talented people struggling to get their own projects up, I decided to try making a feature length film comprised of shorts, allowing all of these people to be involved in something big.

The films aim to explore the idea of conversation - why, where, when we do it, and how it affects us. In eleven vignettes, we see people talking to each other in an attempt to make sense of themselves and the world they're in. Every time we speak we reveal a wealth of information about ourselves, yet none of us know how we will be interpreted.

Virginia wants to buy a bird. Laura just had her last exam. Dan thinks Will is nice. Alice is pregnant. Denny is sad. Peter might jump off a bridge. Renee is trying. Zara thinks Rose is a hypocrite. Julie's mum is dead. Bridget wants to be an actress. Karen hates pink.

Everyone needs to talk. We all hope someone is listening. Everyone needs to talk. We all hope someone is listening.
